goo-d will: editor, translation, visualization

sc_wogeditor_impalesticky.jpgwe keep getting blown away by the amount of love and effort people put into goo related stuff:

to everyone involved with these projects, especially those geniuses who started them, big thanks from both of us.  our hearts swell with gratitude and our jaws are on the floor in awe.

Ooh. Ooh. Level editor! I predict community map packs with increased craziness!

  2. X-Tender Says:

    Wow! That’s pretty Goo-d
Its nice to see the other people constructions!

  3. THE_Ted Says:

World of Goo on Steam (I pre-ordered and then activated) has an update which fixes the level finishing handle position when the config file is changed to higher resolutions. On a 42″ television with native resolution of 1920×1080, with the game actually running at that resolution, is like a dimensional portal to a plane of deliciousness. Like a duck dipped in guacamole.

  4. Michael Says:

Oh, a level editor eh? That sounds magnificent.

Thanks for linking to the translations as well, I always like helping out with stuff like that. I changed some things about the dutch translation.

I will begin work on a world of goo “Map Portal” for people to share created maps.
    It will be at http://www.Dillxn.com/wog

  6. JohnEvans Says:

Wait…there’s no level editor in the game? I hadn’t checked yet, but I expected there to be one…

Without help, I found out how to do the Leap Hole trick today. (It was having another go through Tumbler when I found it out, once the trick is learned OCD is nearly as easy on that level as finishing it normally.)

The reward for finishing Leap Hole is nifty!

    That’ll looks pretty good.
The translations are a huge shame though.
I took a look at the Dutch one.
    Pain in eyes. My eyes.
The signs are really nice in English, perfect choice of words and everything. But they are terrible, ugly to look at, disgusting in Dutch. It isn’t easy to do it right, I know, but…

    Eewlgh.

The level editor and the tower rendering thing are cool.

  12. Tom Brouws Says:

I’m Dutch, and I prefer to play all my games, watch all my movies, and do everything media-related in English. And watch the movies without subtitles, to improve my English. I think translation takes the essence away which can only be achieved by the original language of the product, but of course translations are great for people with a bad understanding of English.

    I checked the German translation and… I don’t like it :/

    Hey 2D Boy!
Level editor sounds amazing, are there any plans at all for a WiiWare editor? It’s just the perfect game to have one, I’d hate to miss out on the creativity of all the Goo Players.

I also think it is great you are making WoG moddable. I would love to see more challenging levels like the last three expanded on. I paid 20.00 USD for the game but I would be willing to pay 60.00 USD for an expansion pack if the levels were more complicated and take me several weeks to get through (1-2 hrs/day). The Windmill level is absolutely beautiful, aesthetically speaking. It would be interesting to see goo balls that exert a repelling or attractive force on other goos. That would make a complex puzzle. You could have the user have to construct a shape which pushes goos away to solve the puzzle. Brilliant game, in case u haven’t heard it in a while.
