hey y’all, we just got word from jason ruymen over at valve that those who pre-ordered the game through our website can now activate it on steam using their magic key. give it a shot and let me know if you run into any problems. thanks jason!

After restarting it worked – said I purchased it and activated on Steam.

My copy of steam crashed too, so I freaked out and came here to read it seems to be happening to other people. Thankfully it was there after the crash.

Crashed my steam too as it tried to start the download. For those who can’t find anywhere to put the key, it’s in the ‘Games’ menu under ‘Activate a product on Steam…’ . Hope that helps!

Crashed my Steam too, but it always crashes when I add activate a product. Or try and load a game. Or move my cursor anywhere near it. Or look at the tray icon.

when activating, it told me I’d activated Dark Messiah and then crashed.
Don’t know if that was something to do with the crashing issue, but all seems okay

I recently got it for the wii. All i have to say is that its spectacular. The story line moved greatly and there was an excellent learning curve. I like the game but i didnt like how you couldnt play world of goo how it is at the end of the third chapter. But even with that its one of my favorite games.

Code worked great. The only thing that has happened for me is that I no longer get any clouds at the Corporation. Not even my own cloud shows up just the tower I’m building. Have never happened before and it’s also like this on my non Steam install also. Weird.

It worked fine for me, though on the next-to-last dialogue it said “Dark Messiah” (Presumably incorrectly referring to Dark Messiah of Might & Magic) instead of World of Goo was being added to my Steam account.
Just a minor copy & paste error obviously. WoG is downloading now, and there’s no further evidence of accidental DMM&M installation.

Activated without a hitch. All dialog boxes showed correct information. Download was blazing fast. Had to restart Steam to get WoG icon to appear in “My games,” though.

Can’t we add the game into Steam if we haven’t pre-ordered it ? Because there’s no “magic key” for those who bought the game directly from PayPal via this website.

I’ve just bought WoG via Paypal and gotten the direct download link without a mention of a keycode. Is there still a way to add it to my Steam account? It’d be convenient to add it to Steam.
