Nintendo Channel now with more goo
We got our trailer on the Nintendo Channel today! Everyone go watch it!
And ignore the super slow download bot. That’s him there playing in the Nintendo Channel instead of dispensing bits. Come back, download bot!
Update: Our hosting provider is working on giving us more bandwidth for all the downloads. Let me know if the speeds get any faster.
Update 2: 2:00am PST. Pre-order mails with a link to the full version are still going out. It should be done today. Meanwhile, we’re trying to make sure the download server stays alive, thanks for being patient, guys!
Update 3: 5:00am PST. Ok, I whipped up a little download load balancer thing. It’s really questionable, but, theoretically, it should gracefully balance all downloads across 4 different servers. If it breaks, let me know. Also, if downloads appear to be faster, let me know. There are so many robots. Heads. Spinning. Have fun, if you’re able to download the game!

Download was 3kb, then it stopped and I can’t continue downloading cos the download bot says it is serving too many people. Hope I can get this downloaded at some point today, very eager to play!

I wish it was faster, but still getting same speeds today as yesterday. As long as the download doesn’t get interrupted then I’m sure we will survive at lower speeds. Lost the download about 3 times yesterday… :)

yay, I beat it! It really didn’t even need to be as long as it was. The first time I saw the blocks, I was so pleasantly surprised I gasped. wow. this was so packed with genius level innovation!

Was downloading at 3kb/s but now it’s almost hitting 8kb/s. Better, but still pitiful when I should be hitting 400kb/s.

The load balancer seems to be helping as of two hours ago – I spent about 6 hours trying every 20 minutes or so yesterday, and couldn’t even get into the queue. This morning I got in in two tries, and a steady 20-30KBps download.
I don’t care how tired I am when I get home, this is getting played tonight.

Mine was downloading at roughly 3 kbps until it stalled last night; when I tried downloading again, it sped up significantly and was done within a half hour.
I got my initial email at 5:20 (pre-ordered mid-late Feb), inital download at 7:20, second download at 9-ish, all Eastern time.
It’s so cool you guys included the whistle!

I was wondering when the email robot will be finished (if it hasn’t already), because I have yet to receive my download link. I really liked the preview, but I mostly payed because I support independent game developers, especially ones as talented as you! Everything about the game looks, feels and sounds exactly right. I hope you guys get rich and famous, because you deserve it (and because it motivates you to make more games). : )

Well its 9:41 A.M., and after testing the link every hour or so yesterday to get my download with no success (he was a very busy robot) it finally gave me the opportunity to download it this morning! It started off real quick, I got up to 50% in about 30 seconds, but now it has slowed down, roughly to 65K/second.
Thanks 2DBoy! Im so excited to play this game! Its up to 72% percent now! We love you 2D Boy!

Got my email this morning (1st march)
Attempted to download this morning at around 8am GMT, couldnt get speeds over 3kb/s.
Just downloaded now at about 5 GMT, getting over 100kb/s. Excellent work on getting the servers up to speed! Loading it up now :)

I ordered 20th March and got my mail 25mins ago, download speed stayed around 1mb for me so took less than 2mins to download :)

Thanks guys, I’m glad it’s downloading faster now.
Remember, progress along the timeline is not constant. We got a lot of pre-orders in March, for instance. So Mail Bot is not stuck, no worries :)

I think I preordered around april. Just got my email today – download speed is hanging out around 65kbps on a connection with much more bandwidth – but no worries. I’m in no hurry.

I also got my gooey e-mail 20 minutes ago. I preordered on April 21st. Download speed is going up and down between 40 and 300 kb. Should be done in 30 minutes. Wheeee!

Also download is looking reasonably quick ~130 to 150 KB/sec
for next time id suggest a pre-load of an encrypted version that is decrypted on release (like steam does) that would help with the download rush

Wow, congrats guys, incredible game.. I euh, played all day instead of working !!!
and got to the end. I really thoroughly enjoyed it. This is from somebody who never plays games really, but liked the puzzle, 2d, fun, nice artwork, nice music in your game. Couldn’t believe only 4 (or 5) of you worked on this project. Kudos!

Awesome game. Awesome twists. Strange, yet funny ending.
Is there a soundtrack compilation? I like some of the music alot, namely the quietly pieces and the one in the ending/trailer/etc.. They are very nicely done.
Would it be possible to create an editor? I like the World of Goo Corporation, but…I wonder what it would be like to build with all types of goo. Maybe making own levels with own ideas. Endless possibilities for communities to thrive on. :)
I have ideas that involve goo and bridge builder themes. :D

MMmmmm, tasty goo. And a level editor sounds cool, but I can remember the video for the artwork creation done by 2DBoy, and it looks hard as nails to make a really good loking stage, so I’m just gonna leave it to them.

UsF : It may not be exactly what you want but in the ./res/music folder you will find the music from the game as .ogg files
You can play these in windows media player if you have the directshow filter installed which you can get from http://www.xiph.org/dshow/
