Human Brain Cloud: Massively Multiplayer Word Association Game
This is the first in a series of mini projects that I will be posting here. Human Brain Cloud is basically a massively multiplayer word association game where it gives you a word, and you type in the first thing that comes to mind. In this way, the brain cloud grows to become a giant network of interconnected words and phrases. The network started with just one word - “volcano“. All other words (several thousand at this point!!) have been submitted by visitors to the site. Play with it here

Shalin beat me to it. Amazing stuff!
I want the “how crazy am I option?” to see how I rank when I type in “mass suicide” as the first response to “buttered popcorn.”

Thanks guys! Yeah, I’m not currently displaying your top secret enemy combatant score, but I am indeed secretly collecting it and piping it over to homeland security in accordance with the patriot act. happy 4th of july
(sorry about the confusion, that’s not actually true, be as bad as you want..)

When will the site be back up? I saw this on Joystiq and I was so excited until I saw the error that the game was down for some quota exceeded?
July 23rd, 2007 at 1:28 am
Paul, Frankie, and anyone else wondering why the site has “exceeded it’s CPU quota” - the site gets that error when it gets very busy, I never expected this project would become popular enough to regularly crash the server! I guess that’s a good and a bad thing. Luckily, the downtime only lasts for a couple minutes, so keep checking back. I’m trying to fix the problem in the meantime.

Can I help you upload the HumanBrainCloud to, say, the google app engine, so that you won’t feel the CPU and bandwidth issues? Please, it was an awesome project, I’m sad to see it offline!
